Mirror Mirror review | Cara Delevingne

Hi!
Here is my review about Cara Delevingne new book!

This book tells the story of 4 teenagers who weren't very popular and had not very much self confidence until they decided to form a music band: that was the revelation for them.
  • Rose is the cliché of the popular girl: she seems very good at everything, but in reality she got a lot of problems. She is the singer.
  • Leo live in an estate in London. His big brother is in jail and used to get him in a lot of trouble. He found self-confindence and the power to be himself, and not his brother with the band. He is the bass player.
  • Naomi used to be a weird girl who dress like manga characters. Now she is fine with herself.
  • Red is in a lot of trouble: her mother got alcohol problems and her father is never  home. She has to take care of her 7 years old sister.
They were great together, finally dealing with there problems, until Naomi disappears. They find her two weeks later, not in a very good place, in the Thames. What happened to her?

***

I'm a little disputed about this book, I don't really know if I liked it, but the point is, I couldn't stop reading it. I really wanted to know what was gonna happend to all the characters, if Naomi was gonna be alive. I give a 5/5 for the suspense.

It also deals with hard but important topics, like rape, alcohol problems or paedophilia. I think that's a good point cause one the author, Cara Delevingne is an inspiration for a lot of young people: they are gonna read the book because of her, so it's like a good warning for them.

Another good point in this book is that it is turn toward friendship: it's in the center of the story. It shows how people can get better if they have not many, but good friends.

It really felt like a story of teenage. For the writing style, I found it quite easy: you don't have to read five times a sentence to understand the meaning of it like in some books I've read.

Finally, I think this book fits with the writer's state of mind: it's marked by tolerance and the fact to accept people how they are.
